China National Convention Center (CNCC) joins the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) in February 2008 and the International Association of Congress Centres (AIPC) in April 2008.
Organized in 1928 as the American National Association of Exposition Managers to represent the interests of tradeshow and exposition managers, IAEE is one of the leading associations for the global exhibition industry. Headquartered in Dallas, the United States of America, today IAEE represents over 6,000 individuals who conduct and support exhibitions around the world.
CNCC General Manager Mr. Haiying Liu met with 2008 IAEE Chairman Randy Bauler and IAEE President Steven Hacker at the China Expo Forum for International Cooperation (CEFCO 2008) on January 14, 2008 in West China's Chengdu.
AIPC is an international association of convention and exhibition centres whose mission is to support, encourage and recognize excellence in convention centre operation and management. AIPC was founded in 1958 in Brussels as a professional association of directors of congress and exhibition centres. Members of AIPC are part of an international assembly of senior meetings industry representatives with a common interest in advancing professionalism within the industry. AIPC will be hosting the 2008 Annual Conference and 50th General Assembly at Suntec, Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 28 – July 2. AIPC Apex Award, the award for “The World's Best Congress Centre” and the new AIPC Innovation Award will be unveiled on this gathering.
CNCC is currently the only AIPC member in mainland China. As China's only purpose-built congress centre, CNCC is proudly China's biggest and newest international convention venue when the facility reverts to its permanent use on July 1, 2009 after post-Olympic renovations are completed.
