Senior Chinese leader Li Changchun visited the International Broadcasting Center (IBC) and Main Press Center (MPC) of the Olympic Games on Thursday July 10, 2008.
Both IBC and MPC are located in China National Convention Center (CNCC), a newly built venue in the heart of the Olympic Green. They kicked off the media service for the event on Tuesday July 8. More than 20,000 reporters will cover the Games.
Li's visit was to examine the work there so as to ensure that domestic and foreign reporters enjoyed quality service during the Games. Li Learned details about broadcasting system operation and management status in IBC and visited key MPC service areas, and he also encouraged volunteers to well prepare for the coming Olympics.
Li is the member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
