The 24 th FISM World Championships of Magic (WCM) 2009 will be held between July 26th and 31st, 2009 at China National Convention Center (CNCC). Mr. LIN Jian, Executive President of FISM WCM 2009 promises that 24th FISM WCM will be the most successful convention in the FISM history.
To fulfill the promise, the organizing committee will prepare a world-class gala-show with the best magic performers, invite stage skill experts and experienced events organizers both from China and abroad to ensure a smooth and quick dispatch of all the convention elements.
On Aug 4th, 2006 at the 23rd FISM 2006 Convention in Stockholm, Beijing, after a fierce competition with the other two candidates - Granada and Vienna, finally won the bid for hosting the FISM 2009 World Championships of Magic, gaining 62 percent of the votes in the General Assembly.
Firstly the organizing committee chose China National Center for Performing Arts as the venue. In January of 2008, after careful consideration and inspection, International President of FISM Mr. Eric Eswin and International Vice President Mr. Domenico Dante agreed that China National Convention Center is just the right place ideally to meet the FISM WCM’s requests.
Executive President of FISM WCM 2009 Mr. LIN Jian explains why CNCC replaced the National Center for Performing Arts. He says CNCC enjoys extremely satisfying location and boasts its advanced facilities and excellent services. As China’s only purpose-built congress center, CNCC is proudly China’s biggest, newest and most versatile venue suitable for conventions, exhibitions, banquets/gala dinners, performances and award ceremonies. Immediately adjacent to the convention center are two newly-built hotels with almost 800 rooms. One is five-star InterContinental Hotel and the other one is four-star CNCC Grand Hotel.
CNCC CEO Mr. LIU Haiying thanks the organizing committee for choosing CNCC as the venue for the No.1 world magic contest. Mr. LIU expresses CNCC will ensure all the programs of the magic convention to be carried out smoothly at CNCC. He also believes the 24th FISM WCM will be a great success.
